Knight Property Group has gained planning consent for a one-acre commercial development in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.

The new site on Prospect Road will be known as The Crescent. Construction is due to start soon and will see the development of four industrial units, ranging from 2,750 to 5,500 sq ft, for let.

Nearby occupiers include Pangeo Subsea, Boskalis, Power Jacks and Tendeka.

Aberdeen-based Knight said the “high quality and well specified” units would not only appeal to companies in the oil and gas sector but also other kinds of businesses, given their location and prominence.

Knight director, Howard Crawshaw said “There is strong market demand for these smaller type of industrial units and our other industrial units in Westhill have all now let up.”

Paul Richardson from Ryden, which is marketing the new units jointly with FG Burnett, said ‘It is positive news for the market that Knight Property Group are building out these high specification industrial units. The site is located in a prominent roadside position in the heart of Westhill and we have already had strong interest from both oil and gas occupiers and trade counter operators. We anticipate that we will be announcing some lettings very shortly.’

Knight is also developing pavilions 10&11 at its existing Kingshill Park in Westhill.

The firm said these two office pavilions would offer incoming occupiers an “excellent, modern and open-plan environment.”

MTM construction was appointed main contractor for the development, which will provide 21,000sq ft of new office stock to the market by the end of 2020.
