Cryozest set to bring cold therapy to Aberdeen

Knight Property Group has secured Cryozest for the last-remaining retail unit at Kingshill Commercial Park in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.

A brand new Cryotherapy Centre is being launched by business owners Ben Coveney & Alan Webster, who have agreed a five-year lease on Unit 5B, which extends to 900 sq ft. This business concept has been four years in the planning for Ben & Alan, who are now delighted to have the base and the Cryozest team on board, to support the business moving forward.

Around 12 people are working on an employed or self-employed basis with Cryozest, which also incorporates health, hair and beauty treatments.

Originally developed in Japan, the health and healing benefits of whole body cryotherapy have been known for some time, but it has only become more mainstream and popular recently, with the practice being endorsed by professional athletes, ‘A’ list celebrities and top football stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is also regarded as one of the most effective physical therapy options for rheumatic diseases, assisting weight loss, skin conditions and improving sleep patterns.

In the very short treatment time of just a few minutes, clients experience temperatures down to -110 °C/-170 °F. After a medical check, the user enters a chamber with cold air down to -110 °C/- 170 °F and remains in the chamber up to three minutes.
Health and safety standards are paramount and all clients must complete a medical questionnaire prior to any treatment, with all sessions being monitored by a highly-trained member of staff.

Ben Coveney, owner of Cryozest said:

“We are really excited about our launch and it is great to have such a perfect base for our business to grow and expand.”

“The health and well-being benefits of cryotherapy are effective and wide-ranging. It is a much more pleasant experience than an ice bath and we anticipate positive demand for our services from clients from Aberdeen and around the North East.”

Alan Webster, co-owner of Cryozest added:

“This has been over four years in the planning and we are delighted to have secured premises on such a popular, thriving site in the ever growing community of Westhill. With the A944 on our doorstep, and the AWPR close by, it opens the door for easy commuting access for anyone. With parking at the door, we are in the perfect place.”

“We look forward to working with Knight Property Group and welcoming clients to Cryozest with the hope they feel the benefits of regular cryotherapy over time.”

Howard Crawshaw, Managing Director of Knight Property Group said:

“Cryozest is an exciting addition to the occupier mix at Westhill and we look forward to seeing the business evolve and develop.

“Occupiers like Cryozest and The Hill Deli are seeking quality and well-located retail units and it is pleasing to achieve full occupancy of our speculative units at Kingshill.”

Kingshill Commercial Park is located approximately 7.5 miles west of the city, located immediately of the A944 road, at the entrance to Westhill. It offers good communication links to the north and south via the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Road.

Daniel Mitchell of FG Burnett said:

“This development has generated considerable interest and achieving full occupancy is testament to Knight’s ability to anticipate market demand and develop accordingly.”

Savills and FG Burnett are agents for Knight Property Group at Kingshill Commercial Park.

As part of the company’s support for the NHS, Cryozest is offering all NHS employees 15% off all treatment prices.
