A NEW milestone has been reached in redeveloping Aberdeen’s former Capitol Theatre.

The building, which was last used as Chicago Rock Cafe and Jumpin’ Jaks nightclub, has been torn down and demolition has now been completed.

The Aberdeen city centre site was once owned by the Luminar Group but has since changed hands.

And it is set to create up to 800 jobs when it is transformed into a state-of-the-art office space.

With the exception of the frontage, which is to remain, the old building has been levelled and foundation work for the new office is now under way.
